Hasa's Hasa-cide is used to control the growth of algae in swimming pools. Hasa-cide is compatible with those chemicals normally used to treat pools and is effective in a wide range of pH.

For pools with visible algae growth:

  1. Adjust chlorine level to 3.0 ppm.
  2. Pour Hasa-cide directly into the pool with an initial dose of 18 to 27 fl. oz. for every 10,000 gallons of water.
  3. Vacuum settled algae debris

For freshly filled pools:

  1. Adjust chlorine level to 3.0 ppm.
  2. Add 10oz.-18oz. of Hasa-cide for every 10,000 gallons of water.

Weekly maintenance:

  • Every 5 to 7 days, add a maintenance dose of 3.5 to 7 fl. oz. of Hasa-cide for every 10,000 gallons of water.

Winterizing Pool:

Hasa-cide will prevent growth of most algae during the off-season winter months when pools are not in use. For pools which have been properly treated during the swimming season and are free of visible algae, add 10 to 18 fl. oz. of Hasa-cide for every 10,000 gallons of water before covering. If at the end of the swimming pool season the pool has some visible algae growth, add 18 to 27 fl. oz. of Hasa-cide per 10,000 gallons of water. Circulate pool water to ensure uniform distribution of algaecide throughout the pool for maximum effectiveness. If pool is not covered, it may be necessary to repeat the treatment one or more times during the off-season.
